15-HETE
Description
Description of 15-HETE with associated disease summary
Asthma
Higher concentrations of EBC 15-HETE were detected in asthma patients compared with healthy control (J Allergy Clin Immunol. (2011)). Although another study shows that there are no difference of EBC 15-HETE concentration between asthma patients and healthy control, the adjusted PA ratios (raw concentration divided by the concentration of palmitic acid) in asthma patients are higher than the healthy control.Asthma, Aspirin-Induced
EBC 15-HETE concentration were higher in aspirin-induced asthma (AIA) than inaspirin-tolerant patients. It can be linked to an overexpression of lipoxygenases enzymes (LO), particularly 5- and 15-LO in lungs with hypersensitivity of aspirin (J Allergy (Cairo). (2012)) .Summary of extracted biomedical information
