Prostaglandins G2 (PGG2) is a downstream product of arachidonic acid and an upstream precursor of other prostaglandins in eicosanoid biosynthetic pathways (Pediatr Pulmonol. (2013)). It can be detected using LC-MS/MS method. Some of the prostaglandins involved in immune response such as prostaglandins E2 (PGE2) and prostaglandins D2 (PGD2) (Arch Med Sci. (2012), Pediatr Pulmonol. (2013)). The downstream products of PGG2 such as 13,14-Dihydro 15keto prostaglandin E2 (PGEM) and PGD2 increase in asthmatic patients compared with healthy control. (Pediatr Pulmonol.
