Prostaglandin D2

Description

Description of prostaglandin D2 with associated disease summary

Prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) is an inflammatory mediator and can be detected by enzyme immunoassay (EIA) method. Concentration changes of prostaglandin D2 induced by allergen has been detected in various biologic samples including plasma, bronchoalveolar (BAL) fluid, nasal washing fluid, induced sputum and urine (J Allergy Clin Immunol. (2008)). The concentration levels of EBC PGD2 in asthma patients is increased after allergen inhalation (J Allergy Clin Immunol. (2008)). Description of disease(s) related to Prostaglandin D2 (PGD2):

Disease summary

Asthma

The EBC PGD2 concentrations in asthma patients increased after allergen inhalation (J Allergy Clin Immunol. (2008)).
